One of the more interesting articles I've read lately:
An article by a Los Angeles Times investigative reporter who decided to put his skills to use investigating his own story, namely, who his parents were and why they put him up for adoption. This one comes out a bit more interesting than most such stories seem to.
I suspect that if I found out that I'd been adopted, I'd be curious to the point of mania about finding out why/who/how.
My eldest sister was adopted and she eventually found out her story -- her mother, suffering from schizophrenia or manic depression, got pregnant when she was definitely not able to look out for a new baby, put the child up for adoption, and my parents adopted her. Fifteen or sixteen years later, my sister found out that her birth mother's mental illnesses were very, very hereditary. :(
Anyway. It's an interesting article. Give it a read.
