Teh Season of LENT: SAVE TEH DONUTS
Feb. 17th, 2010 12:02 amAsh Wednesday starts teh season of Lent.
Tell you what: it's considered acceptable these days (instead of sacrificing something or giving something up) to make a volunteer commitment or help out with a cause.
Want to sign up to help crew the Breast Cancer 3-Day in your area? There's no fund-raising requirement -- just have to give up a long weekend to help support the walkers. You can sign up here: http://www.the3day.org/site/PageServer?pagename=crew_landing_2010 -- there IS a registration fee to cover your meals and crew t-shirts, but the LOVE and GOOD FEELINGS you get are FREE OF CHARGE!
Alternately, if you don't want to work as crew, my wife and I would LOVE to have your financial support toward the cause of curing breast cancer. That'd be a heck of a Lenten commitment, right?
Lent is traditionally forty days in length, not counting the Sundays between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. How about a dollar per day -- then you don't have to give up coffee, drankin', donuts, chocolate, American Idol, or any of them other sinful vices that are so hard to tear yerself away from.
$40 donation, and yer off the hook. It's THAT SIMPLE!
Woot!
You can donate toward my fundraising total here: http://www.the3day.org/goto/jayfurr
Thank you, brothers and sisters!
