Lenten Vow: Stay Off Facebook

jayfurrTired of seeing my pointless gibberish in your Facebook feed? Want to get me the heck off Facebook for six weeks? If I can get $1,100 more in donations for Carole's breast cancer 3-Day fundraising total between now and February 17 (the first day of Lent in 2010) and thereby get her to the $2,300 minimum she needs to be able to take part in the Tampa Bay 3-Day, I will stay OFF FACEBOOK for the entire duration of Lent. That's February 17 to April 3.
I will disable synchronization between Twitter and Facebook and between Livejournal and Facebook so nothing I post there will show up on Facebook either.
If you look at Carole's donation page, you'll note that she's actually only at $600 right now, but there are $600 more in pending matching gifts from my employer outstanding. When those are processed, she will be at $1,200 and therefore be $1,100 shy of her fund-raising minimum.
Also, a reminder: a corollary to the get-Carole-to-$2,300 thing is that if we get her to $2,300 by the first day of Spring, I'll walk sixty miles in a single day: from the Canadian border in Alburgh, Vermont to our house in Richmond, Vermont.
And finally: if you do donate at least $50 between now and Sunday, you'll be included in our Breast Cancer Awareness Teddy Bear raffle (http://www.furrs.org/raffle.htm).
So: will you help? $10 here and $20 there and $25 here and $17.23 there will add up -- you don't have to donate the entire $1,100 yerself.
